In July 2023 Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht travelled to Ukraine to work alongside our partners at the Assemblies of God church in Lutsk. Dr. Giesbrecht travelled on behalf of the Soul Sanctuary and was supported by donors from both within and outside of the Soul community. The purpose of his trip was to deliver approximately $50,000 worth of medical supplies to civilian and military personnel in Lutsk and to a casualty care unit in the Donetsk region. Dr. Giesbrecht provided instructional education on the use of medical equipment and also had the opportunity to share the gospel with those he served alongside.
Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 a number of members from the Assemblies of God church in Lutsk have enlisted in chaplaincy ministry to Ukrainian soldiers.
