Ablaze with His Glory

Del Fehsenfeld Jr. was that kind of man, and this book is a potent summation of his life message. In 1971, God placed on the heart of a youth director and his wife a vision for spiritual awakening in North America. Life Action Ministrieswas birthed as a result of the faith and obedience of that young couple, Del and Judy Fehsenfeld.
Del went home to be with the Lord in 1989. To the end of his life, he was fervent in praying and believing God to reveal His glory in our land. In the years since Del’s homegoing, God has sustained and expanded the outreach of the ministry founded by this faithful servant. Today over 200 Life Action staff members are continuing to proclaim the message of revival through local church summits, radio, retreats and conferences, and revival-oriented publications.

Even though the title of this book connotes a physical activity, a race with beginning and an end, you and I know that we’re a lot more tired at the end than we were at the start. Given the rigors of his work and the persecution he endured, the apostle Paul knew something about this. And so he wrote about a physical place that will house a resting place for those who know Christ as Savior. A forever dwelling.
“For we know,” wrote Paul, “that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in Heaven, not built by human hands” (2 Corinthians 5:1).
Heaven is a place. A specific, someday visible reality. In the last chapter, I quoted Jesus’ promise to His disciples about the mansions He was preparing for them. In Heaven:
